Many would concur The Bastard Swine had a dream debut in Cronulla at the Jazz and Blues Festival in May, with a packed to the rafters house, dancing, singing and plenty of loud whopping, the consensus and a stellar review agreeing they were an ‘unforgettable act!’
‘The Swine draws in influences from lead singer/songwriter Chris Griffith’s pub days in Wales as a lad and a plethora of imaginings over time. Chris is penning killer original tunes again. The songs are full of vigour and heart, and get feet tapping and sing-alongs started, with smart & sassy hooks, licks, and joy and are as tasty as they get. The Swine’s songs are memorable, they feel familiar, and they’ll go down a bloody treat with beer-swilling and cheery times with a sprinkling of covers you’re sure to love.
The Bastard Swine are Chris Griffiths, vocals and guitar, Genesis Santos on lead guitar and vocals, stalwart Richard Pietsch on drums, Luke Anthony on bass, Jo Spengeler on backing vocals and ukulele and keys provided by Bryce Moffat (not pictured).
Joining them for the evening are like minded friends Gallus, who also deliver feel good tunes that warm the cockles. Fronted by Davey Higgins their cracking songs pass the pub test from Glasgow to Goulburn sitting superbly around any campfire, party or wine bar for miles. Gallus are seasoned, inner west Gasoline Pony venue favourites and are making their debut at the Brass Monkey for the first time!
